This place was well maintained and had many beautiful floral trees. Being someone who seeks out a more natural setting though, I disliked how many tourists were there even on a weekday. You never we're able to have too much time alone since everyone follows the trail. None the less, it was a nice walk on a spring day..only a little chilly in the shady parts.
Lovely gardens; over looking the sea with the most beautiful views of topery and flowers. There's also the very pretty woods full of lushous greens as well as interesting trees and jungle like plants. Pretty good place to take children to run free and have fun while parents watch the sea view. There's also a beautiful house to look around but not as good for children. Parking is also free and most staff speak fluent English. Would definitely go again and everybody should take a look if in the area.
This is an Arts & Crafts house designed by Edward Lutyens with a garden by Gertrude Jeykll, the first of their collaborations. You can't see inside the house at the moment, but the garden is spectacular. Around the house are a series of 'rooms', which are well presented, and then you walk down a valley with mature trees, and wonderful rhododendrons and azaleas at this time of year.
The weather was a bit dull, but it didn't take away at all from the sheer exuberance of the displays.
Note that the garden is open for two hours in the morning, and four in the afternoon. I think you need at least two hours to properly appreciate the garden !
The single most impressive garden and park I've ever seen. A true master piece! I'm not surprised to read that the British architect of the garden later designed a palace for a king in New Delhi! Budget 2 hours for the visit, the park is huge!
Lovely gardens! A must see but prepare to walk.
Wreally Beautifull A Joy to be here SPRING lots still has to blossem !but allready a feeling of a paradise on earth.love Marionne Ernst
Beautifully maintained gardens, we enjoyed a lovely walk around, we are British so a nice tearoom would have been great to get some refreshments. If you love hydrangeas and rhododendrons you won't be disappointed.
What a magnificent place, so intensely beautiful and in today's hectic world the perfect way to reconnect with nature. The welcome is delightful from the owners and staff. The house is incredible and fits beautifully into the surrounds. I will definitely be back soon!
